White Water Rafting

White water  rafting  offers a deluxe private riverside campground is nestled in a beautiful nature setting. Hot showers, spacious bathrooms, shaded riverside campsites, green grass, volleyball, horseshoe courts and more. Location matters! Look across the South Fork of the American River at total wilderness, not someone’s house or another campground.

A river journey is one of the most enjoyable ways to experience the rural areas and natural environments of any country. Not all outfitters are alike.  Each outfitter has its own philosophy on how to offer an outdoor experience.  Exceeded expectations and friendly faces are to be found on all white water rafting trips!

If you’re looking to take the plunge, you can find rafting outfits all over the country. Whether it’s for a few hours, a day or a week there are plenty of options, and one of them is sure to suite your needs. Shorter runs are often close to urban centers and take only a few hours. If you’re visiting the Rockies there are a number of outfits that will take you out to enjoy the whitewater and some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Lasting from several days to weeks, most of these require you to fly in to the site of the put in. From there to your take out point down river you’ll be alone with your group in the wilderness. While everything will be taken care of for you in respect to meals and accommodations (usually tents pitched on beaches or clearings) you’ll still be expected to pull your own weight.
Wild-rivers are the preferred venue for most white water paddlers. There is nothing like a free-flowing rage of water to lift your spirits and get your adrenaline gushing.

Wool or synthetic (Thermax or polypropylene) garments will "wick" away moisture from your skin and warm you.

*Cotton will leave you wet, cold and clammy.

*A good wool cap can help significantly. 40% of heat loss is through the head.

*Wool socks are also recommended if you don't have neoprene booties.

*Be certain to bring a change of clothes and a towel
